Events & Conferences

Capturing an event is more than just documenting what happened. It's about distilling the energy of an event into something that makes people feel or relive the experience. It’s a tool for storytelling, brand marketing, sales and for reminding people why the event mattered in the first place.

I start the process by getting a clear sense of the event goals, the space, scheduling, and the emotional beats we’re trying to hit in our final story. If we are capturing interviews then we’ll layout the narrative structure and prepare the questions or topics we want to cover. Then once we’re rolling live, I shift into a mode where I’m watching everything from movement, to light, to human connection. Some of the best moments you can’t plan for, but you can be ready for them. I try to position myself so I’m capturing everything with purpose, even if they’re happening in real time. And then after the event we go into the edit bay, where the goal is always to create a story that feels honest, cinematic, and full of energy by utilizing on brand music and appropriate effects. We’ll balance an edit that combines the experience of the live event with your end goal for the marketing/sales aspect of the final video. The goal is always the same: create something that captures the heartbeat of the event and turns it into a powerful asset that continues working long after the show wraps.
